"When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on. It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens."
– Carl R. Rogers.

Child and Adolescent Therapy
At Beautiful Directions Counseling, we have a team of dedicated therapists who specialize in working with children and teens.
Children's Therapy: We offer services for children ages 10 and up. This approach allows younger clients to express themselves through play, making therapy both fun and effective.
Teen Therapy: We also have several therapists who have a passion for working with teens. They understand the unique challenges and pressures that adolescents face and are committed to providing a supportive environment where teens can feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings.
Our goal is to connect with each young client and provide the tools and guidance they need to thrive.
Addictions Counseling
Our addictions counselors are here to support you with personalized treatment tailored to your unique needs and the specific challenges of your addiction. Family and Couples Therapy
Couples and family therapy can be incredibly beneficial when relationships within the family need support and healing. Our therapists are skilled in addressing the unique dynamics that can arise in family settings, fostering open communication and understanding among family members.
Additionally, family therapy can play a vital role in substance abuse counseling. By involving loved ones in the treatment process, we can create a supportive environment that encourages healing and growth for everyone involved.
EMDR
This psychotherapy treatment is particularly beneficial for individuals who experience symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It focuses on helping clients process and make sense of their traumatic experiences, leading to healing and recovery. Through guided support, individuals can learn coping strategies, reduce distressing symptoms, and work toward regaining a sense of safety and control in their lives.
DBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of talk therapy that is particularly effective for individuals who struggle with regulating their thoughts and emotions. This evidence-based approach combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices, helping clients develop skills to manage intense feelings, improve relationships, and enhance overall emotional well-being.
DBT provides a structured framework that empowers individuals to understand and navigate their emotional responses, leading to healthier coping strategies and a greater sense of balance in their lives.
More About Our Groups:
At Beautiful Directions Counseling, we offer a variety of group therapy sessions, including specialized groups for teens and adults. These group settings provide a unique opportunity for individuals to connect with others who share similar experiences and challenges.
Participating in a group can be incredibly powerful, as it creates a supportive environment free of judgment. Here, members can share their stories, gain insights, and learn from one another, fostering a sense of community and belonging on the journey to healing.
The Teen Calm Collective: Teen support group
The Teen Calm Collective provides a structured, supportive environment for teens to connect, share experiences, and develop healthy coping skills. The program focuses on fostering emotional awareness, resilience, and positive relationships through interactive activities, discussions, and peer support. Each month, the group explores a specific theme across two sessions, which incorporate peer discussion, activities, small-group interaction, creative expression, and guided reflection. While the Teen Calm Collective is not formal therapy, it offers a therapeutic and supportive skill-building environment. A counselor is present to provide guidance and support when needed, and participants gain access to mental health resources while building peer connection, communication, and emotional awareness.
Safe Harbor Teens: Suicide Prevention group for teens
Light After Loss: Survivors of Suicide Support group
Light After Loss is a compassionate peer and clinician led support group designed for anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. The program recognizes the complex and deeply painful nature of grief, providing participants with a safe and judgment-free environment where they can connect with others who understand their experience. Attendees are invited to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable, with listening valued as equally important. The group offers a space for mutual support, helping individuals navigate their grief while feeling understood and not alone.
Safe Harbor Teens is a peer and clinician led support group designed to provide a safe and understanding space for adolescents. Teens ages 14 to 18 are welcome to participate, whether they are seeking connection, support, or simply a place to be themselves. The group emphasizes real conversations without judgment, allowing participants to share their experiences or simply listen. Teens have the opportunity to learn healthy coping strategies, ways to connect with others, and methods to navigate challenging moments. Sessions are confidential and respectful, with no pressure to speak. An adult facilitator and a licensed clinician are present to provide safety and guidance, ensuring that each teen feels supported while participating.
